WHILE Cardiff Toyota has maintained a consistent commitment to customer service and quality for the past three decades, you need only take a look at one of their best-selling cars to see how much it has also changed and grown.

When Cardiff Toyota first opened for business in 1977, the Toyota Corolla was not yet 10 years old.

The 1977 model launched in Cardiff Toyota's first year of business had the longest life of all Corollas, part of a generation spanning 1974 to 1981.

The Corolla would go on to become one of the best-selling cars worldwide, with reportedly more than 30 million sold by 2007.

Toyota Australia's senior executive director sales and marketing, David Buttner, said Australians had a long love affair with the Corolla.

"More than any other car, Corolla built the reputation of the Japanese automotive industry and that of Toyota Motor Corporation," he said.

While Australia has a mere one-third of 1 per cent of the world's population, we have bought 2.4 per cent of all Corollas produced.

The most recent model of Corolla was launched in Australia in May of this year.

In keeping with the ongoing evolution of the Corolla, it was billed as having more safety features as well as higher levels of luxury.

For the first time, all Corollas feature ABS anti-skid brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution for optimum stopping power.

The 2007 model has a five star crash test rating, with twin airbags as standard.

Mr Buttner said Corolla was much respected and much sought-after.

"It has strong loyalty, with 57 per cent of Corolla owners remaining loyal to the brand," he said. "They recognise Corolla's traditional quality, reliability, high resale values, low running costs and four-cylinder fuel economy."

The all-new Toyota and all-new Kluger are available from Cardiff Toyota.
